Vrgada island is only 2.5 nautical miles from the mainland. It is connected with Pakoštane by a local shipping line which brings the visitors to the exuberant beauty of the Mediterranean nature. MURTER
Murter is one of the greatest island in size of Šibenik archipelago, which is itselfs one of the biggest archipelagos of Adriatic sea. It is very close to the land (only 6 meters) and connected to it by a bridge.
The greatest part of the island is covered by centuries-old olive and fig trees and at the same time these are the chief traditional cultures grown by local people. In the island of Murter there are four small towns Jezera, Betina, Murter and Tisno. There are many sandy and pebbly beaches (Slanica, Kosirina, Čigrađa, Podvrške, Lovišča) forming a string of pearls around the entire island. Murter is surrounded by many islets which make a beautiful and suggestive vista. Also the archipelago of Kornati belongs to the county of Murter. This is why this county is one of the biggest island county in the Mediterranean, with more than 160 islands and with a coast line that is longer than 400 km.
